Pasture-Raised Eggs

Pastured hens are raised on the green pasture; they enjoy the sun and fresh air all day long. They play, they spread their wings, and they eat everything they desire. The hens eat a natural omnivore diet full of bugs, green and dry herbs and vegetables along with beans and other essential nutrients.

Since they have spaces and they are raised in a healthy environment pastured chicken don’t need antibiotics or hormones.( the picture above is taking from lakkis garden pastures )

According to a study from 2007 Mother Earth News egg testing project, conventional store bought eggs are nutritionally inferior to pastured eggs. Compared to official U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrient data for commercial eggs, eggs from hens raised on pasture may contain:

1⁄3 less cholesterol

1⁄4 less saturated fat

2⁄3 more vitamin A

2 times more omega-3 fatty acids

3 times more vitamin E

7 times more beta carotene

4-6 times more vitamin D

Hens living Outdoor, under the sunlight with fresh air, are always happier and healthier. Pasture-raised eggs have Richer, darker yolks and fluffier, firmer whites. Obviously Pasture-raised eggs look better and taste better.

paying a little bit more on pasture-raised hens eggs is a great investment on our health, because other than eating an egg free from hormones and antibiotics, we are getting more vitamins, omegas, and other essential nutrients, and less saturated fat and less bad cholesterol.
